Land and George Barna Join Impressive Lineup of Speakers to Inspire Pastors and Believers

Dr. Richard Land to Address Upcoming ‘U-Turn’ Conference, Hosted by Southern Evangelical Seminary Tomorrow

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES, www.ses.edu) President and Evangelical leader Dr. Richard Land will join renowned social science researcher George Barna and other top speakers tomorrow for the American Pastors Network “U-Turn” event.

“U-Turn: A Roadmap for Renewal,” hosted by SES and geared toward pastors, ministry leaders and engaged believers, will equip, empower and educate attendees about the essentials to impact culture, especially now, as the culture changes rapidly.

“Southern Evangelical Seminary is looking forward to hosting the ‘U-Turn’ conference on Thursday,” Land said, “as we know how important pastors, churches and Christians will be in the start of a revival in our nation. As we look back on our nation’s history, the faithful have played an integral role in social change, and now, we know Christians and the church have an important role to play once again.”

Biblical and not political, the powerful day-long “U-Turn” conference on April 14 will feature some of the nation’s leading speakers who will share their incredible stories and inspiring words, demonstrating to pastors and ministry leaders that a new vision for their churches can be a catalyst for critical change.

Land, who will welcome attendees to the event, and Barna, executive director of the American Culture and Faith Institute, president of Metaformation and a widely published author, will serve together on a “U-Turn” panel titled “How Can We Affect Change: A Practical Perspective.” Moderated by North Carolina Pastors Network President Dave Kistler, the panel will also include historian David Barton, former NFL star and President of Reclaiming America for Christ Paul Blair and pilot/author Dr. Steve Scheibner.

Added APN President Sam Rohrer, “There has never been a more important time for pastors, ministry leaders and engaged believers to come together, uniting to learn more about how they can be a catalyst for change in our society. It’s easy to see from headlines alone that our country desperately needs to take a drastic ‘u-turn,’ and pastors, the church and the faithful will be the ones to lead the charge. Our incredible and insightful ‘U-Turn’ speakers are acutely tuned in to what our nation needs, and they know the time is now and the window is short to take action.”

“U-Turn: A Roadmap for Renewal—A Conversation with Pastors on Society, Culture and Leadership” will also feature Jeremy Dys, senior counsel for First Liberty, formerly the Liberty Institute; Gary Frazier, biblical writer and founder and president of Discovery Missions International; Bryan Smith, senior manager for biblical integration for BJU Press; and Sammy Tippit of Sammy Tippit Ministries.

Set for 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at SES, 3000 Tilley Morris Road in Matthews, N.C., “U-Turn” registration is $39 for adults, which includes lunch; the student rate (with an ID shown at the door) is $21, and the group rate (with five or more individuals) is $25. Tickets at the door will be $45. To register online, click here, or for more details, click here.

Some of the comments from last year’s “U-Turn” event in Pennsylvania include “I never fully knew what my biblical role was as a pastor, until now!,”  “My life and ministry have been forever changed!” and “Now I get it with respect to my mission—I really get it!”
