True, biblical disciple-making is the whole process of winning the lost, growing the believer, equipping the worker, and sending out the proven multiplier.
These micro-groups train men and women to do five things:
- KNOW their identity in Christ
- GROW in their faith
- STAND firm in the Truth
- DEFEND the historic Christian faith
- MULTIPLY by making disciple-makers
THE PROBLEM
A Functional Great Commission of Assimilation…“Go into all the world and make worship attenders, baptize them into small groups, and teach them how to serve a few hours a month.”
Is Outpacing the Biblical Great Commission of Multiplication… “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.'”
THE RESULTS
- 5% of churches in the US have a reproducing disciple-making culture
- 6% of self-identifying Christians have a Biblical worldview
- 51% of pastors have a Biblical worldview.
Who needs Virtual Faith Link?
Church Members
Individuals who seek to focus more intensely on disciple-making in a focused “vibe and tribe” of disciple-making.
Christian Leaders
Individuals who regularly provide spiritual leadership and seek a place to “fill the cup” they pour out for the benefit of others.
Dones
Individuals who have disengaged from traditional church settings (perhaps due to church hurt) but are still open to seeking spiritual growth can “bypass the machinery” for a time to heal.
Nones
Individuals who do not affiliate with religion but are open to a structured Christian environment that will “respect and reason” with
For some, a Virtual Faith Link micro-group will be a supplement.
For others, it will be a lifeline.
Truth That Matters carries forward SES’s unique program in classical apologetics, love of Christ, high view of Scripture, and defense of biblical inerrancy as described in the Chicago Statements while seeking to:
- Engage with and equip individual believers, churches, and organizations “on the ground,”
- Build trust and credibility through doctrinally-sound, innovative, and effective resources and
- Create positive, biblical impact that empowers the church and stabilizes our culture.
Through the training at TTM, Southern Evangelical Seminary is working toward a vision of every believer standing Steadfast in the Truth.
