Job Title: Director Marketing 

Reporting: Chief Operational Officer

Position: Full Time

Location: Hybrid

Purpose of the position: 

Reporting to the Chief Operational Officer, the Director will be a member of the leadership team focused on expanding of the vision and mission of SES & TTM. As a key leader, the Director is responsible for driving the growth of SES/TTM through marketing, external partnerships, and student & participant recruitment to the overarching mission. The Director is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing extensive and comprehensive marketing, stakeholder engagement and overarching strategies, in alignment with the collective vision, to advance the mission of SES & TTM.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

MARKETING STRATEGY & EXECUTION

  • Collaborate with the leadership team, communications, and other departments to create, implement and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns, and initiatives that align with the goals of SES & TTM, including brand awareness, student and user acquisition, and customer retention.
  • Via the creation of a comprehensive and extensive strategy, the roll will direct, implement, and track marketing, public relations, and stakeholder engagement to increase the number of vital partnerships with SES with an overall goal to increase significant partnership engagement (SES & TTM).
  • Provides thought leadership by identifying short-term and long-range challenges or opportunities and providing commentary and recommendations to reach goals.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and management of marketing strategies and materials to include physical collateral and any other externally focused campaign.

 

DIGITAL MARKETING & MARKET RESEARCH

  • Manage and optimize digital marketing channels such as Google Ads, SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, content marketing, and online advertising to drive lead generation and user acquisition.
  • Responsible for the SES and TTM website layout, branding, and content – leveraging this as our #1 networking tool.
  • Oversee the SES | TTM store for both paid and free resources, ensuring alignment with branding and strategic objects. Create new products and promote regularly.
  • Participate, listen in, and contribute to the Hamilton Strategies bi-weekly sessions.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Student Life, and Communications to conduct market research
    • Identifying target audiences and understanding their needs and preferences.
    • Identifying strategic markets for recruiting students (digital, in-person, etc.)
    • Track and analyse marketing data to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay current on the latest trends in education marketing and adapt strategies, accordingly, including but not limited to other comparable seminaries, content competitors, and customer needs to guide product development and marketing efforts. 
  • Use data-driven insights to track and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to improve results.
  • Evaluate and monitor all platform performance on an ongoing basis by analysing key metrics.

 

CONTENT CREATION & PODCAST PROMOTION

  • Produce high-quality content, including blog posts, ebooks, infographics, videos, and other collateral that resonate with our target audience and establish us as industry thought leaders.
  • Perform research on various topics to ensure accuracy of all facts in all content creation 
  • Create and maintain the podcast’s vision, brand via content research and creation.
  • Provide thought leadership in the President and COO’s podcast: script, edit, review, and research podcast scripts to ensure quality and consistency in messaging and theme.
  • Design and create show notes, blog posts, and other promotional materials to accompany the President and COO podcast.
  • Responsible for content, multi-media, and graphic creation as needed for the promotion of SES/TTM.
  • Collaborate with the President for writing needs on an ongoing basis.

 

COLLABORATION

  • Responsible for collaboration with other team leads on the planning, management, and execution of marketing/student recruitment events (both in-person and virtual) to include the annual Apologetics Conference. 
  • In tandem with communications, responsible for building brand awareness via partnerships, advertising campaigns, social media opportunities, and all marketing initiatives (internal & external).
  • Monitors and maintains direct reports by supporting coaching, counseling and monitoring team and individual results.
  • Develop self and team by providing informational, educational and growth opportunities to ensure top performance and support overall job satisfaction.

 

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, schedule of expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions to ensure compliance within approved budget.

 

Academic and trade qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
    • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis
    • Experience may also be used in lieu of degree

 

Position Requirements

  • Deep Commitment to SES mission and agreement with the Doctrinal Statement
  • Experience in marketing and external relations and managing a team. 
  • Project management and strategic marketing planning 
  • High competency in stakeholder engagement and stewardship and ability to engage with diverse groups
  • Experience with digital marketing and content creation as well as a high competency in utilization of Microsoft applications and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Up to date on marketing trends and ability to strategically monitor, access and improve upon the brand.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with extensive attention to detail.
  • Seasonal travel necessary for conferences and industry events.
