  • At least a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university (with major in Bible or Christian Ministry preferred). • Preferable three years of youth ministry experience in a growing youth ministry

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, delegate, and work with your student ministry secretary
  • Plan spiritual growth gatherings, activities and events that include opportunities for kids to worship, experience community, learn Biblical truths and apply them to their lives (spiritual growth)

Job Description:

  • The Minister to Families is a part-time position.
  • An average of 15-20 hours a week is the expected time commitment.  Some weeks will require additional hours, while other weeks may require less hours.
  • The Minister to Families directs the Student and Children’s ministries.
  • The Minister to Families is supervised by the pastor.
  • The Minister to Families works with the Personnel Committee in regard to his job responsibilities, annual job review, hiring, and termination.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Minister to Families leads the student ministry.
  • He equips and supervises the volunteers who lead the children’s ministry:  Kerr Kidz, and children’s worship. In cooperation with volunteers, he chooses curriculum for these ministries.
  • He leads the students, grades 6-12, during their Sunday and Wednesday evening events.
  • He manages the student and children’s ministry budgets, and obtains approval for all fundraising endeavors from the Deacon Council.
  • He plans and attends student camps, events, and trips.
  • He works with children’s ministry volunteers to plan special events and trips.  He attends these events when he is available.
  • Other ministry responsibilities may be assigned by the pastor as needed.
  • The Minister to Families leads and works with the Student Ministry Council.  Their mission is to provide input and support for the student ministry activities.
  • The Minister to Families is a member of the Church Council and is invited to attend Deacon Council meetings.

Job Benefits:

  • The salary range is $15,000 – $17,000 annually.
  • There is one week of paid vacation the first year of employment, and two weeks of paid vacation thereafter. Vacations must be approved by the pastor.
  • There is one week of paid sick leave the first year of employment, and two weeks of paid sick leave thereafter.
  • Additional emergency sick leave may be granted if approved by the pastor and the Personnel Committee.
  • Unpaid leave for reasons other than sickness may be granted if approved by the pastor and the Personnel Committee.

Connect Christian Church is located just outside of Cincinnati, OH. The church is lead by Lead Pastor Mike Edmisten and members of the congregation that make up the Elder Board. Connect has only been portable for around seven years after selling their building to move towards more of a contemporary atmosphere. Attendance right now typically runs around 250 each week. The Chinese Christian Church of Baton Rouge (CCCBR), is in need of a full-time minister to shepherd our English-speaking congregation.  Our congregation is primarily made up of ethnic Chinese from mainland China, Taiwan, South-east Asia, Hong Kong and North America.  The church holds two worship services with two different languages on Sunday morning: a Chinese-Mandarin service with approximately 90 attendees followed by an English service of about 40 people of which 20 are youth.  There are also multiple Sunday school classes, fellowships and Bible study gatherings within the church.
