The worship leader will work closely with our pastors in developing the musical aspect of the worship service. Youth Pastor is responsible for promoting and maintaining the mission of New Life Bible Fellowship Church’s youth ministry (7th – 12th grades), which is to Glorify God, introduce students to New Life in Christ, and grow together towards maturity in Him.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Summer Camp Chaplain ensures that the Christian mission is prevalent by providing leadership and resources to the summer staff and campers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. To serve as a spiritual leader for camp staff and campers
  2. To implement unique ways to incorporate the mission throughout each day
  3. To equip staff with resources for daily devotions
  4. To assist in the continual growth and improvement of staff
  5. To Lead evening “Vespers” each night and Sunday morning
  6. To fulfill the mission of the YMCA

Job Description: The Chaplain is responsible for providing comprehensive Christian pastoral ministry to the residents and staff of the correctional facility; provide other services to inmates, staff, public officials, and the community that will enhance the overall ministry.

Job DutiesGeneral day to day job duties include the following:

  1. Provide comprehensive Christian chaplaincy services to inmates and staff: counseling, conducting/scheduling Christian worship services, Bible studies and arranging clergy visits, distributing literature and performing other pastoral and ministerial functions as appropriate.
  2. Facilitate access and ministry of religious volunteers for all faith traditions recognized by the facility.
  3. Handle emergency and death notifications among inmates and their families.
  4. Encourage and counsel inmates, correctional officers, and other facility staff.
  5. Recruit, supervise and train religious volunteers.
  6. Promote the visibility of the ministry in the community through jail tours and presentations to individuals, community groups and local churches.
  7. Fulfill administrative requirements of the facility and our ministry.
  8. Generate and file computer reports using a variety of software applications.
  9. Work with the local community (churches, individuals, organizations, businesses) to develop partnership support for the ministry.
We are seeking a seminarian student to serve as our Interim Pastor for the summer of 2020, while our pastor is on sabbatical. Our church desires to hire a seminarian so as to allow the student an opportunity to grow in experience and wisdom as a pastor. Responsibilities: Planning, overseeing and preaching at the Sunday services, leading a midweek Bible Study, participation in church events (including VBS) and in leadership meetings, caring for the sick and those in need of counseling as needed, and other pastoral duties as they arise. The seminarian would be shepherded by a mentor leader in the church, expected to work 32 hours a week, and agree with our church’s statement of faith. Compensation: $5,000 and housing provided.

  3. Lead & direct Sunday/Wednesday evening programs for youth.
  4. Lead & direct monthly youth outings both recreational and missional.
  5. Strive to build youth group via outreach.
  6. Disciple & develop faith in our students. Work to lead the lost to know the Lord.
  7. Strive to live a life which exhibits a consistent walk with Christ & sets an example for Youth to follow.
  8. Support the services, activities and mission of the church.
  9. Attend & participate in Sunday Morning Worship services at Sharon Baptist Church. 
  10. Prepare a calendar of events with the Youth Committee and plan & lead a youth retreat.
  11. Work with Youth in Vacation Bible School.
  12. No Sunday trips during church service without special approval of Youth Committee & Pastor.
  13. Strong communication with youth, parents, Youth Committee, & Pastor.
  14. Plan & implement Youth Sunday once a year.

Part-time, available on Wed. p.m. & Sun. a.m.; small congregation, volunteer choir; choose music, rehearse choir; plan Christmas & Easter cantatas; lead congregational singing. Requirements Must agree with and abide by Mountain View’s “Statement of Faith” (the statement of faith can be found here. While a M.Div. (Seminary Degree) is not a requirement of this position, the pastor is expected to set aside time daily to the study of Scripture and for prayer. The pastor is expected to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of revealed Scripture.

Eastern Hills Baptist Church has a great opportunity for someone desiring to use their musical gifts to further the kingdom of God. We are looking for a person/family with a heart for the gospel and who shares our vision of being a multi-cultural and multi-generational church serving the diverse community of east Charlotte. The primary responsibility will be leading our congregation in worship and building a team of musicians (band, singers, etc.). Skills needed include musical/instrumental proficiency, strong people skills, understanding the theology of worship, and a willingness to work in a diverse cultural setting.
