Southern Evangelical emphasizes a core curriculum in classical apologetics, theology, philosophy, and evangelism.

You can get something here that cannot be found anywhere else - training under some of the top Christian apologists and Bible teachers in the country who are committed to classical theology, philosophy, and apologetics. We invite you to join the hundreds who have already experienced this exciting educational opportunity to become better equipped to evangelize the world (Mt. 28:18-20) and to defend the historic Christian Faith (1 Pt. 3:15). We offer the best programs in apologetics with training from top professors like Norman Geisler, Thomas Howe, Barry Leventhal, Wayne Detzler, Steve Strauss, Gary Habermas, Ron Rhodes, Win Corduan, Ergun Caner, Lee Strobel, Mark Mittelberg, Dan Burrell, and many others.

Southern Evangelical is fully accredited and offers professional, undergraduate, and graduate degrees.

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religious Studies.
  • Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.)
  • Master of Arts (M.A.) in Apologetics, Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Church Ministry, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, Philosophy, and Youth Ministries.
  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Apologetics and Biblical Studies.
  • Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) in Apologetics.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Apologetics

SES also offers concentrations and certificates in these subjects as well as Islamic Studies.

Diploma (undergraduate) and Certificate (graduate) programs are available for those not interested in meeting degree entrance requirements or wish to complete this work prior to completion of other academic work.

SES offers very competitive tuition rates at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Our tuition rates are low, as are our application, registration, and graduation fees. Limited scholarships and financial aid are available, but most students do not find it difficult to pay as they go - thus avoiding the debt that students in other institutions must deal with after graduation.

Southern Evangelical is located in one of the best areas of the southern states.

The campus is situated in a beautiful wooded campus area. There is plenty of local housing and the economy is booming.

Southern Evangelical offers an excellent external studies program available.

For those unable to move to the Charlotte area, lectures can be provided on audio or video. Although external students miss out on some great fellowship and discipleship, they can take the courses on their own timetable.

If you have any questions about the application process, then please call Duke or Nora Hale at 1-800-77-TRUTH ext. 216 or 223 and set up a time to meet, get a tour of the facilities, and ask questions.

For other information such as housing, employment, churches, etc., please contact Cheryl Maddox at 1-800-77-TRUTH ext. 211.

Open House Minimize

We would love to meet with you personally.

SES hosts an Open House for prospective students to get a chance to visit the campus and speak with representatives of the school. If you are considering Bible College or Seminary, we invite you to come visit the campus, meet our professors, and get a feel for SES life and education. We generally hold our open houses Friday prior to the start of our two annual conferences (usually the last week of March and the second week of November), so you can combine your visit with conference attendance if you wish. You are also welcome to come out the day before and sit in on a class Thursday night (Friday classes are usually rescheduled around conference nights).

Your visit will include:

  • Lunch, and time to meet with faculty and staff as well as other prospective students.
  • A greeting from the president, Dr. Alex McFarland.
  • Presentations from the Registrar (Doug Potter), the Director of External Studies (Doug Beaumont), and other academic department heads.
  • A tour of the facility.
  • And, if you arrive on thursday, you will have the opportunity to sit in on one or more of the courses being taught that evening (6:30-9:30pm).

To attend the Open House please contact one of the Deans of Students: Duke Hale(dhale@ses.edu) or Nora Hale (nhale@ses.edu).

If you are not available to come to the Open House, we can schedule a campus visit. To do so please call Duke or Nora Hale at 1-800-77-TRUTH ext. 216 or 223 and set up a time to meet, get a tour of the facilities, have lunch, and ask questions.
